How will the excursion take place?

Let's start with an excursion on the rolling hills of Mugello in the municipality of San Piero a Sieve where the Medici developed a great wealth thanks to textile and agricultural production, and to trade. Here the members of the family have invested a large part of their assets in order to develop the area and make it, among villas, fortresses and hunting reserves, a real palace.

The excursion runs for 18 km starting from the San Piero a Sieve station, easy to reach from the Santa Maria Novella station. The stages are characterized by the villas of Trebbio and Cafaggiolo (not open to visitors as they are private) and the fortress of San Martino, commissioned by Cosimo I to protect Florence and the area where he spent his childhood, considered today among the largest in Florence. Europe.

Trekking shoes are mandatory. The excursion can be carried out from March to October.

How much does it cost and what does it include?

The cost of the excursion is 120 € in total, not per person. The maximum number of participants is 15 people for safety reasons and in compliance with anti Covid regulations. In addition to the organization and the official authorized environmental guide service, the cost includes RC insurance. Transport and (packed) lunch are not included.
