Who's the "explorer"?
My name is Vincenzo and I am the explorer, a bit like the famous Dora in the cartoon we watched as children with the difference that I see the mountain and not only that, I take you there!
But let's start from the beginning so you can get to know me better.
Born in 1992 I have always been curious about everything around me. As a child, in fact, I never missed an opportunity to "escape" in the groves around my house, in the magnificent Mugello that I surely know for the racetrack and for the victories of Valentino Rossi.
This curiosity, however, was not aimed only at nature, but also at the ruins, the small frescoed chapels and even the museums when I had the opportunity to visit them. My parents weren't very keen on it so occasions were rare.
Growing up and having more autonomy there was no longer a need to "escape". It was enough for me to put on my boots and take a walk around the paths at the weekend or stay a few hours after school to visit the Florentine museums, because I chose high school in Florence.
Speaking of studies, many expect me to have a degree in something like languages, art history, history, biology, zoology, geology or something related to the profession of driving.
In reality, the economic conditions did not allow me to attend a university once I obtained my diploma and I immediately started working as a tour leader for a few years. The one who on the tourist bus explains to groups what they see left and right and who never shuts up in a few words.
However, this only served me to pay for subsequent studies to replace the university, that is the environmental and tourist guide courses that allowed me to have a thorough knowledge of nature the first and art and history the second.
Now you know where all those descriptions you see on the instagram page and in the quizzes I do often come from.
I finished the courses in September 2019, got the respective licenses making an endless journey in the bureaucracy and I finally started working in the profession that allows me to channel my curiosity and also allows me to share everything I discover with you. An interactive sharing that those who know me have experienced firsthand, different from the usual school-lesson pippone that is often heard around.
In 2020 when everything was taking shape, as we all know, the coronavirus arrives. Everything collapses, hopes, projects, goals ... I change my job, I first work as a courier and then as a bricklayer (respectable jobs believe me, and whoever carries them out has all my respect). The call of nature and art, however, was too strong, those professions cut the legs of that curiosity that has always moved me.
I resume driving in the summer of 2020 in very small steps, on weekends. Then finally 2021 arrives, in spring finally the most vigorous resumption of both touristic and environmental driving activities.
So what does "ecoexplore" mean?
Right, I left it in the end on purpose. Ecoexplore is simply my brand that encompasses the essence of 360 ° discovery from the art of museums to the art of nature, in fact "from the cathedral to the mountain" comes precisely from this. Furthermore, since tourism is responsible for 18% of global pollution, 10% of the income that I generate through the driving activity is donated to the Marevivo non-profit organization which deals with the cleaning of beaches and seas (Tyrrhenian and Adriatic) and I also organize excursions aimed at cleaning the paths that are very often decorated with the garbage of those who do not have an environmental education.
Having said that, I apologize for the length, and see you soon in Florence or on the Mugello trails.
