The Medici dynasty was full of important mainly male characters, judging by the chronicles of the Renaissance. However, in our journey through the Florentine streets, we will see the feminine side of the dynasty. We will talk about those mothers, wives, sisters and grandchildren, some who even became queens who in addition to creating important bonds with other powerful families through marriage made sure that the dynasty survived.
From Clarice Orsini to Maria Luisa de Medici passing through the stories of Caterina de Medici, promoter of the atrocious event known as the night of San Bartolomeo, and Eleonora di Toledo, thanks to which today we have one of the most sumptuous palaces in Europe just a stone's throw away. from the center of Florence.

How will the tour take place?

Our tour will begin with the Medici Riccardi palace, the first official residence of the family in the city of Florence. Here lived the women who were part of the family. The next stop will be Palazzo Tornabuoni belonging to one of the rich families with which the doctors were related and from which Lucrezia Tornabuoni came, a true protagonist in weaving the future of the family. Near the Tornabuoni palace we find Palazzo Strozzi in the homonymous square. Here in the darkest period of the history of Florence and the Medici family, the first Medici queen of France, Catherine, was raised and educated.

Our visit will take us to Palazzo Pitti, the last family residence wanted by Eleonora da Toledo and where Anna Maria Luisa wrote the family pact before passing the baton.
