Tour on the history and works of Giotto, the artist who revolutionized the painting of the 13th century. Who was Giotto? Why is it so important? How did you get there in Florence?

How will the visit take place?

We will begin our journey in front of the basilica of Santa Maria Novella where Giotto received one of the first public commissions, the wooden crucifix that is located above the altar.

The visit will take us to the basilica of Santa Croce inside which we will find two chapels entirely decorated by him. During the journey, however, we will also meet the architect Giotto, and we will also talk about Dante who it seems he knew before he was exiled.

How much does it cost and what does it include?

The visit costs € 90 in total, not per person. In addition to the organization and the official tour guide service, the necessary earphones are included inside the Basilica of Santa Croce. The total duration of the visit will be about two hours and the maximum number of participants is 10 people.
