Discovering the mountain people
and their traditions
For centuries the Apennines have been inhabited by small groups of people who have cultivated and tended the slopes of the mountains to obtain the resources they needed to survive. The mountains are not easy to cultivate with cereals and various vegetables as it is easy to guess but in exchange the trees that cover them give excellent fruit.
Among these trees there is also the chestnut which was used to create excellent dishes to satiate our great-grandparents.
In this trek we will see how this tree was used and we will discover those structures that were used for the processing of its fruits and still exist today.
At the end of the walk, if you wish, you can have lunch in a magnificent restaurant which is part of a former convent, but will have to book independently.
